Technology Upgrade Makes Green Production Visible
Recently, the hydrogen peroxide desulfurization system of Sulfuric Acid Unit 1-C has been officially put into operation and maintained stable running, injecting new impetus into the enterprise’s green production.
Previously, the ammonia desulfurization process adopted by the unit gradually exposed shortcomings during long-term operation. It was difficult to control sulfur dioxide emissions, there was heavy pressure on the disposal of ammonium sulfate by-products, and system stability was affected in some periods.
To solve these problems, the sulfuric acid tail gas treatment project was launched in May 2025. During construction, managers went to the site many times for guidance, and operators cooperated closely with the construction team. Focusing on key procedures such as equipment hoisting and welding, they conducted repeated demonstrations and tackled key problems one by one. Finally, the system installation and commissioning were completed safely and efficiently, achieving zero accidents for both personnel and equipment.
People are the key to the stable operation of the new system. In view of the fact that employees had no prior experience with hydrogen peroxide desulfurization technology, the Sulfuric Acid Operation Department organized special training. By means of explaining principles, teaching operations and strict assessment, it helped staff master the new process as soon as possible. Technical personnel were also arranged to provide on-site follow-up guidance, ensuring the stable operation of the system.
The operation performance speaks with data. Monitoring results show that after the renovation, the emission concentrations of sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid mist in the unit’s tail gas are far lower than the national emission standards, realizing deep purification of flue gas with more remarkable environmental protection effects.
More notably, the new process has also turned waste into wealth. The dilute sulfuric acid produced by hydrogen peroxide desulfurization can be directly recycled back into the production system without additional treatment or waste liquid discharge. This not only reduces pollution but also cuts costs, turning environmental protection investment into tangible economic benefits.
Going forward, KaiLin Phosphate & Fertilizer will continue to be guided by the spirit of the Group’s Staff Congress, focus on the frontline of production, promote the continuous improvement of green production through more technological renovations, and consolidate a green foundation for the high-quality development of the enterprise.
